Atomic Corgi (2012)

Atomic Corgi is a side-scrolling 2D shoot 'em up with a positively adorable protagonist and ridiculous screen flipping mechanic!

Atomic Corgi was developed using the XNA framework over a period of forty-eight hours as part of a game jam featuring the theme, "Change of Plans." In order to execute on the theme, the game feature screen flipping and switching mechanics in order to keep the player disoriented. Each new background screen changes the abilities the player has access to, but the game window can also be rotated and inverted at any time to further complicate things.

With only two days of development time available, the game is far from perfect, certainly more of a prototype than any sort of complete or balanced experience. We were fortunate, however, that we stumbled upon a mechanic that could potentially be used in fun and interesting ways in other projects.
