Mashball (2014)

Mashball is a frenetic new brawler developed by Muffin Express Games, featuring a unique twist on hot potato! Try out local-multiplayer with one of four lovable robots who were built for nothing more than to blow each other up for your enjoyment!

Take a twisted version of “Hot Potato”, a bunch of lovable robots, hilarious color commentary and what do you get?  MASHBALL!  It’s the chaotic, arena combat sports broadcast you never knew you loved!  Mashball features FREE4ALL and 2V2 game modes, two unique level sets, and a plethora of power-ups.  Choose your favorite “tater-bot,” your favorite ability and challenge your friends.  With support for up to four players, it’s fun for everyone!  Mashball is the greatest potato sport ever created… for a 3:30am time slot on a fake sports network.

The Mashball engine was built entirely from the ground up by the engineering team to showcase their technical coding abilities. The gameplay was prototyped and tested in Unity by the design team. The total process took about fifty-six weeks, during which a variety of additional mechanics and content continued to be developed using Unity. The final systems, mechanics, art, and audio were implemented into the custom engine late into development process.
